Villa Poggio al Sole; Villa on the Vigliano Bio estate,

located on a hilltop with views of Siena.

The villa occupies 280 square metres on two floors and is for the exclusive use of families or groups of friends, with no areas shared with other guests.

The villa sleeps 8 or 9 people.

This is the largest and independent part of the main farmhouse, and every year it is refurbished and made comfortable for our guests.

The villa has a large garden with a private 7 x 14 metre fenced swimming pool for guests' exclusive use, and a fully equipped garden with views of Siena. Open from mid-May to September.

Mid-June to September for weekly stays.

Low and mid-season: 2-3 night stays accepted.

The villa can also be rented for one or two month periods during low and mid season, for guests working remotely while on holiday, surrounded by nature and beautiful hills.

The ideal place to relax, recuperate and practise sports, with a golf course just five minutes away and all amenities less than five minutes' drive and also accessible on foot.

We're in the Merse valley, an area abounding in Romanesque rural churches, abbeys, ancient Etruscan-Roman villas and medieval villages with castles.

Just 2 km from the nearby village of San Rocco, with all its amenities.

This is a relaxing part of the Siena area, less known and less crowded by mass tourism yet highly regarded by lovers of sport, particularly cycling and motorcycling, partly because of its strategic location close to the south-western side of Siena and the sea.

We mainly produce cereals such as durum and soft wheat, farro monococcum, barley and millet, as well as ancient grains and chickpeas, lentils and wine grapes; all our crops are grown organically and most of them are processed in our own factory, where you can buy them directly from our factory shop.

On the top of three hills, the Vigliano Bio estate enjoys beautiful views of its fields and vineyards, sloping down towards our farmhouses, with Siena and Casentino in the distance.

We have two guest houses in Vigliano, where you can stay for long or short periods.

Our organic guest house offers several accommodation options to suit all your needs.

Podere Cartaio and Villa Poggio al Sole are similar in style and just 1 km apart within the estate; both can be rented by large groups.

Our rates for the whole Villa:

for group of 8 people, from € 240.00 in low season per night; from € 280.00 in spring per night. Excluding bridges and holidays.

Minimum stay: 2/3 nights

in summer season: from 320.00 per night, 8 people; minimum stay 7 nights

Inside the farmhouse

Ground floor

Independent entrance opening onto a large lounge and a spacious dining room. The kitchen, with access to the veranda, is equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, espresso machine and all utensils, and there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a large sink.

The large lounges at Poggio al Sole also offer a billiards room, available on request.

Next to the kitchen is a covered veranda with table, chairs, armchairs, barbecue and ping pong table for outdoor leisure time, with direct access to the large garden.

First floor

Wooden stairs lead to the first floor and the sleeping area, with four large twin rooms, two bathrooms with showers and one with a bath, all with hairdryers and towels.

Outside the farmhouse

Large outdoor spaces with shady greenery, plenty of trees and flowers everywhere; furnished spaces for dining in the garden or by the pool, under the horse chestnuts and lime trees; various children’s toys for guests' use.

Covered veranda with wood-burning oven and barbecue.

The large swimming pool, slightly hidden and with shady areas, is perfect for cooling off and relaxing during your stay.

The use of caps and showering before entering the pool are recommended and obligatory.
