Originally belonging to the Archbishops of Florence, it was acquired by the Guasconi family and restored in the 16th century.

The villa has great historical importance, and has always belonged to our family, the Marquesses Guasconi di Villamena.

In the year 2000, our family opened the villa following a meticulous restoration which respected the building's original form and artistic merits, offering unique accommodation for Italian and foreign guests, in complete harmony with nature.

The villa is approached by an avenue of centenarian cypresses leading to a fortress.

The exterior of the villa is a solid square building with an impressive batter on three sides; it still retains the appearance of a fortress, with an inner courtyard enclosed by a facade with a beautiful central doorway. It has distinctive 16th-century windows with frames and sills in pietra serena, the characteristic local sandstone.

The entrance leads to the inner courtyard, where guests can dine outdoors; a large wrought iron table and chairs are available for the purpose. From the courtyard the interior is accessed, with a large central hall, the old billiards room and a lounge surrounded by the rooms. The ground floor covers 500 square metres; upstairs there is only an ancient kitchen, accessed by a staircase that retains its original form, like all the floors and interiors of the villa. All the rooms have coffered ceilings and doors framed in pietra serena.

The property is rented for exclusive use of one family or group of friends; there are no spaces shared with other guests. Private swimming pool.

The villa is available from mid-May to mid-October.

In spring it can accommodate from 6 to 9 people. Rates based on the number of occupants in mid season. Minimum stay 2/3 nights

Rates in spring: from € 35.00 per night per person. Excluding bridges, holidays, sporting / local events

In summer, rates for the entire Villa, in 8 people: from € 330.00. Minimum stay 7 nights

Other spaces in the villa: 4 double bedrooms, 2 complete bathrooms and 2 toilets, dining room with adjoining fully-equipped kitchenette, lounge with large sofa bed and downstairs kitchen with wood oven for the pizza evening we offer our guests, very popular with children.

Guests have the use of two kitchens, one small and a larger one downstairs, with an ancient wood oven, where we cook pizzas for our guests. It's extremely popular with children, who can all help to knead the dough and prepare the pizzas.
Guests can relax outdoors under the centenarian horse chestnut tree, enjoying magnificent views of the woods and disturbed only by the chirping of birds.

The villa is surrounded by a well-established garden which features small terraces and fountains with nymphs as it slopes down to the 6 x 12 metre pool, set in a quiet corner, shady and private.

For guests who like walking, it's wonderful to head into the woods, through our olive grove and among the rushing streams, to enjoy views of the Mugello and Lake Bilancino.

And, in the permitted season, lovers of truffles can be guided by an expert with his trained dog, on the hunt for the precious tuber.
